Having lots of fun with the website. Getting to photoshop all the weird pictures of your faces. I can dig it. The first weekend out where this website has material, and I realize all you smart phone people have special website needs. Like a few of the wav songs I uploaded are 40 megs… and you cant load that outside at a bar.
Have a bunch of photos I need to upload, and also to integrate the photo section into a browse-able set of panels or something. \
For those of you chumps who are informed about the ties, I am amassing pictures of peoples faces in black and white. Gallery to follow

Would Anyone be Receptive to the addition of a Like button or Shopping Cart?
I just ordered 7 Neon Neck Ties and just might print a picture of Lee's face on them and sell them to recoup the cost of setting all this up.
Anyway just a thought, I could launch my other great marketing ideas to this huge audience,
such as womens underwear featuring pictures of famous scientists with fact blurbs (like the ones you see in the margins in a math text?)

Hey people. I've figured out how to set up user accounts to FTP direct into a folder, so if you want some webspace hit me up. It took me less than 5 minutes to install File Zilla and plop stuff in with my test account.

Jan - 2011 FOC's Return is in BETA (did it move?)
It's Been a long time people! Difficult to figure out why... Perhaps it's because I don't play video games anymore, nor, for that matter, do I enjoy using a computer... or the internet...
I'm sure none of that is exactly true.
Why then did FOC disappear? - I was most likely disheartened by changes the internet, and it's popular use, made. Somehow causing instant obsolescence of my little green monster called FOC. The initial need for FOC has been squelched (by many increasing orders of magnitude) by social networking websites (which suck), and massive free email boxes/picture sites with seemingly infinite hard drive space and bandwidth. During the FOC hayday the 1Tb hard drive was unheard of and everyone was bummed when their photo bucket account decided to crap out from bandwidth use. Internet pros had FTP's. Cell phone cameras were not hooked to email and generated a sizable one mega pixel file. The iPhone didn't exist. I think the Razor was cool?
If you people wanted real estate on my dumb web site... you would have to ssh into a 500MHz linux box jammed in a drawer at my parents house. This computer had no case, no mouse, and no keyboard. My max download was 90kBps and my max up was an astounding 10kBps. Good riddance DSL. friendsofcampbell.com was registered out of Mexico, and since I didn't even have a credit card (I was too young?), one of my responsible older friends (Thanks LT) payed the 8 bucks to register the DNS. (Have I put you all to sleep with the techno jargon yet?)
Why bring it back then?
Well, that is the question. Maybe the internet is still completely horrible. The concept of the social experiment where I gave people logins that plopped to the web someplace was flawed. I was competing with myspace and live journal, and at that time they already had a decent rig... Perhaps also censorship could be an issue (see figure one)... I would have to go through by hand and remove all the photos chock full o' Swazi's if Lee decided to go on a tear:

But hey that was the fun part I think. For the most part nobody used it! Now you hear the horror stories of people losing their jobs because of facebook or something wild like that.
So now that you've probably stopped reading, I will get to the point. This is my quiet corner of the internet. Quiet in the sense that it is unlikely an employer would find it. Not quiet like the layout and design (yuck). In every way it should be loud and maybe rude. Or probably just my photo journal space bucket book. It is my corner to honor the Friends of Campbell and also to challenge you. We are a tech savvy bunch, so why did we learn all this stuff just to have some god awful interactive face book experience? I realize this is the blog mentality and I'm sorry. I think I would rather waste time at work with a secure shell than on face book.
